The Beginning of a New Project

God is working in wonderful ways here at the “Base dos Anjos” (Base of the Angels)! In less than 6 months we’ve already gained two missionary families and two nurses. There is a lot of maintenance work to be done and many souls to be reached with the gospel. We decided to spend much time in prayer and communion with God, asking for the Holy Spirit to give us power and wisdom on how to start this evangelistic work here in the Amazon. It’s been amazing to see how God is working. He is leading us to precious souls that are open to learning new Bible truths!

One of our missionaries is giving Bible studies to the landscape worker of this property. He lives in a village close by but works here everyday. He had been baptized a long time ago but left the church. He has been very interested in the Bible studies and has been joining us for worship, which we do every morning before we start the day. His heart has been touched and has now returned to church and is bringing his family with him!

Another testimony is that some weeks ago our electricity went out for a few days. We noticed that our water was about to run out since the pump doesn’t function without electricity, which caused us to wonder why the Lord was permitting this to happen. We trusted in the promise that “all things work together for the good of those who love God” Romans 8:28. Then, something very special happened. Gilmar, a young man who worked at our neighbors property, came to visit us to help find a solution for the lack of electricity, since we learned that the villages surrounding us had power, but only both our properties did not. This was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Gilmar was invited to our morning and evening worship times and began doing Bible studies.

The Bible studies with Gilmar and his brother Lucas have been a great blessing to all of us. Unfortunately, they had to move from this area a short time ago but asked if we can continue our studies. We are happy to visit them once a week to continue our studies.

It’s beautiful to see how God leads us to divine appointments. We are thankful that we were without electricity so that we could meet Gilmar and his family at the perfect timing. With faith and courage we will keep moving forward with this work here at the “Base dos Anjos”. We ask for your prayers, especially for these two precious families that are hungry for truth. May God bless each one of you!
